$3000 bursary for students who are pursuing their post-secondary studies in French!

The Bursaries for Postsecondary Studies in French as a Second Language Program encourages young, English-speaking Canadians to enhance their bilingualism while studying in a field of interest.

 Eligible Canadian students and permanent residents can receive $3,000 for their first year in a college or university program in Canada by studying in French.

​Schulich Leader Scholarship

Win up to a $100,000 Scholarship!

LHHS is able to nominate one student planning to pursue a STEM degree (science, technology, engineering, math) from one of the 20 participating universities (see schools on-line).

The criteria for the Schulich is that the student must possess at least 2 of 3 criteria (3 is better):

1.     Academic Excellence

2.    Outstanding Community, Business or Entrepreneurial Leadership

3.    Financial Need

       Being selected as a Schulich nominee carries with it an important distinction and recognition from your school which you can put on later applications for other awards.

Please submit your application electronically or in person to Ms. Stinson by Friday, January 8th, 2021.

Girls in Engineering Information Session

The Diversity Within Engineering Society at UNB will be hosting a virtual session through Microsoft Teams to talk to girls who are interested in STEM and want to learn more about engineering at UNB! This event will take place at 11:00am on November 12th and 13th.  Those who join the session will receive a prize! Students identifying with she/her/they/them are welcome to attend.

Grade Level Presentations for Guidance

​Every Fall the Guidance Department meets with students in grades 9 through 12 to give them information about what we do in Guidance and how they can access their Guidance Counsellor.  We also talk to Grade 12 students about Graduation requirements, Post -Secondary options, how to order transcripts and apply for scholarships.

Ordering Transcripts

There is a fee of $1.00 each for current students, $5.00 each for graduates of 2015-2019 and $10.00 each for graduates before 2015  This can be paid following the link below. When paying online please let Guidance know so can go in and check receipt of it.  If you have any questions our direct line is 506-444-3067.

Loran Scholarship 2020-2021

The Loran Scholars Foundation has begun its search for the 32nd class of Loran Scholars! They are looking for students who demonstrate strength of character, dedication to serving others in the community, and sparks of leadership potential.

Valued at $100,000,it is Canada’s largest undergraduate merit award, which includes four-year study at one of 25 Canadian universities, funding for summer work experiences, mentorship, and​ more.

Learn more about becoming a Loran Scholar here​.  Applications are due in Guidance by October 2nd. We will select 3 students to sponserfrom LHHS. Any students who are not selected to represent the school are still encouraged to apply as a direct entry.

Any grade 12 students who are interested in the Dual Credit Program at STU (University Now) or the Advanced Standing Program st STU, please see the attached files (UNDER DOCUMENTS ON HOME PAGE) for information on both of these options.  If you are interested, you must fill out the application by September 7th and send to tracy.gatto@nbed.nb.ca
