Guardians,
Starting on Monday,
February 7, 2022, the morning drop-off routine is going to have a different
format in order to alleviate current traffic congestion.
·
Buses will be
given priority from 8:00-8:10 for students to disembark at both sets of front
doors.
·
Parents/guardians
are asked to park in the area by the basketball nets, or in the yard by the
tank and fiddle, until the buses have departed at 8:10.
·
Recognizing that
many of the children require assistance when getting out of their vehicles, allowing
the buses to go first will assist in alleviating the length of the current
line-up for parents dropping off students.
·
From 8:10-8:20
parents can drop off at both front doors. After 8:20 drop-off is at the main
door only as is current protocol.
·
If waiting until
8:10 may be problematic for some, you are welcome to park and walk your child up
to the steps of the school starting at the usual 8:00 arrival time.
Thank you for your
patience and kindness as we make changes to our current drop-off procedures.
Sincerely,
Julie Holt
Principal
No School - February 4th Due to the stormy weather conditions, all schools in ASD-W are closed today. Stay safe if venturing out. See everyone on Monday!
Welcome Back! We are excited to have our Harvey Heroes returning on Monday, January 31st. A message was sent home to families on Friday, January 28th, explaining new safety measures, and protocols for reporting cases within the school. We value our relationships with our HES families and will continue to work together as the students return to school. Jan. 18/22 - Information & UpdatesDear HES families and
students,
As was announced last
week, learning from home has been extended for an additional (3rd)
week, from January 24th-28th. Learning packets will be
available for pick-up starting Thursday, January 20th, between 8:30am
and 5:00pm and Friday, January 21st, between 8:30am and 4:00pm. Your
child’s teacher may have asked that you come on a specific day due to
operational reasons.
We remain hopeful that all
students will return to in-person learning at school on Monday, January 31st.
As this is an everchanging situation beyond everyone’s control, we will
continue to support students and their families to the best of our abilities. Teachers
will continue to check in with parents throughout the week, and it is hoped
that you are able to connect with them one to two times a week if possible (or
more often if you would like to). It is one of the expectations from EECD and
ASD-W that teachers will do this each week.
Communication was also
sent out last week regarding the new process for reporting positive cases in
schools. Public Health will no longer be contacting families directly, and you
will receive a communication from me in the event there is a new case and your
child is attending school in-person. The following link: https://secure1.nbed.nb.ca/sites/ASD-W/Pages/COVID-19-Dashboard.aspx
will take you to the ASD-W Covid-19 Dashboard that lists reported cases by
school. It is updated each evening at the district level.
I would love to have
pictures of your child participating in their learning at home activities such
as artwork, Phys. Ed. activities, playing board games, etc., that I could share
on our school website and Twitter account. By sending them to me it will be my
understanding that you are granting me permission to share them publicly. No
names will be shared, just the photos. Keeping connected is important, and this
is a safe way to do that.
Thank you for all you are
doing to support your children and their teachers. As we say at the end of our
morning announcements each day:
Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible and Be Kind. Learning from Home - January 11th, 2022HES students will begin learning from home starting Tuesday, January 11th, 2022. November 1st-5thTo our HES families,
While schools and families have moved to learning from home, we do recognize that this is a challenge for many families for many reasons. Teachers will continue to connect with families on a regular basis and you are welcome to reach out to them at any time.
