Memo for Garden Creek Parents and Guardians

Welcome to Week 8 at the Creek☺

Trick or Eat Halloween Food Challenge – GC stands for Garden Creek but also Global Citizenship.. which starts in our own Fredericton community. Greener Village is in desperate need of non-perishable food items. A group of our teachers have struck up a committee to work on this within our school. Each grade level is challenged to bring in 100 food items, which equates to at least 600 items that our Garden Creek Community is donating to the cause. Please read the attachment that gives more specific information and in regard to what items each level is asked to bring. Thank you for your support!

Tutor List – If you are looking for a tutor for your child in the future, please let the office know as the District does have a tutor contact list. Thank you.

Caribou Math – Congratulations to  some of our grade 4 and 5 students who took part in the 1st month of the International Caribou Math competition. One student placed in the top 25% in the World and the 5 others placed in the top 50%!  Thank you to Mr. Burnett for running this club.

Ipads  - to run great things like Caribou Math and other website tools to facilitate learning, we need the use of more Ipads in our school. They typically cost $400 per Ipad including the cover. If you, or a company that you know would like to make donation to this cause, please let us know. The District will issue you an income tax receipt as well.

Picture Orders – Picture orders are due to Harvey’s today. You can do so online at harveystudios.fotosource.com  - go on school photography and click on “purchase your school photo” and follow the prompts.  Thank you!

Clothing – now that the weather is getting colder ( but no snow in sight!) students need their warmer clothing when they are playing outside. As well, as our playground tends to be muddy, a change of clothes in their book bags is advised. Thank you for your support
