​I would like to thank you all for your continued patience with our after-school bussing. As our district transportation continue to refine their own routines and routes, I anticipate the wait/drop-off times to continue to improve. Here are a few upcoming reminders for you to be aware of.

• School Tour Video – For many families, it has been quite some time since you have been inside our building! With that in mind, we have created a virtual school tour which can be accessed here.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1N6Oix1GhpA. This video will be available on our school website as well.

• Grade 3-5 students will be visited by members of the ESTEY Art program Monday afternoon. Information will be shared for any families interested in registering their child for this after-school program. This is set to begin at the end of the month once per week.

• Due to some excessive rain on Friday, our Fire Drill was postponed and will take place this morning. Prior to the alarm sound, all students will receive important reminders about how to travel safely inside and outside of the building and most importantly, to remain calm when this important procedure is needed. For some, this experience can generate some anxieties. We hope to minimize these feelings through practice and discussions!

• This Wednesday, September 15^th, at 6:30pm our teaching staff will be available for a virtual ‘Meet the Teacher’ welcome. Stay tuned for the invitation coming from your child’s teacher.

• Start-up packages that were sent home last week with your child are to be completed and submitted back to your child’s teacher. If you have not done so yet, please make this a priority this week as this information is very important for our record system.

• If you have a child who requires a medical/safety plan due to the following, a Policy 704 form will be sent home to be completed or updated. Please look for it in your child's backpack, sign and return by Wednesday September 15.
• carries an Epi-Pen
• takes medication on an on-going basis at school (for example: inhalers, Ritalin)
• needs immediate care due to a potential life threatening situation or condition
• ongoing observations for a health condition

• School Cash online is available for families to pay for student fees https://anglophonewest.schoolcashonline.com/ . If payment by cash or cheque is required, please note that the identical cost from school cash will be needed.

• We are hoping to start with Pizza as our first Hot lunch option of the school year starting in early October. School Cash online will be the preferred method to register for this. More info to come soon! 

• Garden Creek School will take part in the annual Terry Fox Run again this Friday, September 17th. In order to be allowed to wear a Hat or Pyjamas for the day, students are asked to donate $2 to their child’s teacher. All classes will participate in our school event starting at 1:00 p.m.

• A memo will be going home about Cross Country Running opportunities for children at the Gr. 3-5 levels. A school wide event has been set for October 6^th. Stay tuned for more information.​
