Welcome to our first weekly Memo of the 2019 Garden Creek School year to keep you in the “know”!  You will be receiving this memo on either Fridays or Mondays, keeping you informed of events and dates as we progress through the year.

First Week of School - I hope you find the first week of school a happy experience for you and your child. I know that the staff is feeling positive and are collaborating extensively to ensure your child is supported to the best of our capacity.  Please remember to let me know your questions, suggestions and concerns at any time!

ALLERGIES:  WE ARE A NUT FREE SCHOOL and some classrooms are also Whole Egg free! We do have students with life threatening allergies. Please refrain from sending nut products with your child to school. In some classes students are also asked to refrain from eating egg sandwiches and whole eggs (not necessarily products containing eggs as an ingredient) to ensure the medical safety of some of our students.  We will advise you of any other allergies as made known to us by parents. PLEASE SEE ALLERGY LETTER.        

FORMS TO COMPLETE AND RETURN: 5 forms are being sent home that will need to be signed and returned.  Please return these forms ASAP to the school after reading and completing all the information. Thank you J.              

Meet the Teacher – Meet the Teacher takes place next Wednesday, September 11 from 6:30 – 7:30 pm. This is a chance for you to get to know our school, new staff and spend time getting to know your child’s teacher and the curriculum/ routines of the class. See you there!

Milk Program- The milk program for Grades 1- 5 will begin on the 16th of September (Ks start in January) Payment   can be made on Cashless Schools   ( https://anglophonewest.schoolcashonline.com ) starting on Wednesday September 4th.  PLEASE NOTE:  the staff has been discussing how we, as a Creeker Community, can consider the environment and the impact we can make through reducing the number of milk cartons that we use or determine  a better way to recycle them. The past couple of years, we have not been able to recycle these at the school level.  This is something for us to consider as a school community going forward.   

Hot Lunch Programs - Hot lunch can be ordered for Tuesdays and Thursdays through Cashless Schools.  . Forms will go out on September 16^th.  Home and School runs this program and will be beginning the round with Pappa John’s pizza on Tuesdays and Chartwell’s on Thursdays. Please let us know how we can assist financially if needed.

Wed. Sept 4 – Staggered Entry for Ks / HALF DAY REMINDER! Students dismissed at 12:10/ School Cash goes live to pay fees

Wed. Sept 11 – Meet the Teacher – 6:30 – 7:30 pm / Milk fees due

Thurs Sept 12 – Harvest Jazz Blues in the Schools performance 1:10 pm – Dan Doiron

Fri, Sept 13 – Terry Fox Run at the Creek 1:15 pm

Mon. Sept 16 – Milk program starts / Hot Lunch forms go home

Tues. Sept 17 – First Home and School Meeting 6:30 pm

Sat. Sept 21–   Becca Schofield Day - Creekers Helping Creekers Bottle Drive!  #BeccaToldMeTo
