School Memo #35 - Monday, May 28th, 2018

Memo for Garden Creek Parents and Guardians

Good afternoon Creeker Families!

Tomorrow is the last half day PL day of the year, dismissal will be at 11:30 tomorrow morning.

Wednesday is our “volunteer appreciation luncheon” to say THANK YOU to all of you wonderful volunteers who have helped us out over the course of this year. If possible, please RSVP to Mrs. Ghanem by tomorrow morning if you are able to attend so we know how much food we need to get.

We are asking that if any families know they are moving, or you know any families that are moving into our zone, if you could please let us know. Also, if any students are considering transferring into or out of French immersion if you could please let us know. A change of just one student can actually affect our class organization, so we really need to know as soon as possible what we have for numbers. Similarly, if any such changes occur over the summer we would appreciate an email if you can.

We are having a fundraiser event! On Saturday June 2, we are having a Summit Dodge/Fredericton Nissan test drive fundraiser here at the school. At no cost or obligation to you, if you come by between 10 and 12 noon and take one of the cars for a drive, our school will receive a $20 donation from the company! All you need is a valid driver's licence! We will be continuing to remind people about this over the next few weeks, it will be a great and easy way to raise funds for the school with no cost to parents!

Please find attached a communiqué from the school district on the selection of schools across the province to participate in a research project on the length of the school day.

Ms. Doucette, our librarian, would like it if families check at home for overdue library books. There are a number of overdue books still missing. Children who have overdue books should have gotten a slip this week with the name of the missing book on it. Also, we are planning to have a meeting about our library renewal project after our volunteer tea on Wednesday if anyone is interested in attending please let us know, or just stay afterward.
