Information for Parents of Grade 5 Students going to Devon Middle School

This year we will host our Grade 5 student visit for an orientation meeting and school tour on
May 22 at 9:15 am.

 

The Grade 5 parent meeting will be the same night. May 22 at 6:30 pm.

Pre-Kindergarten Information Sessions for Parents​

Do you ask yourself "How do I prepare my child for kindergarten?" Well, we have the answer for you. Come to the following sessions and find out how you can help your child feel confident and ready for Kindergarten.

These information sessions are for parents and are from 9:30-10:30am at Gibson-Neill. Parents are asked to call 453-5429, or email melanie.mclaughlin@nbed.nb.ca to confirm their attendance. We look forward to seeing you!

A wop bop a loo bop a wop bam boom! Let's celebrate how it all began with some of the biggest rock and roll stars to ever assemble in your school!  From Elvis “the King,” Little Richard and James Brown to The Beach Boys, The Beatles and many more! We guarantee you'll want to swoon and croon right along because rock and roll is here to stay!  

The performances will take place on Thursday May 16th at 9:15am ( Families A-K) and Friday May 17th at 9:15am. (Families L-Z)

We've got the beat and we've got the soul!  Here at GNMES, we've got Rock And Roll!

Polaris Breech ​Clothing - orders will be accepted between April 15th-29th (cash payment only). GNMES will receive 50% of all sales to help support the construction of the new track facility. Clothing is in youth sizes only - samples of medium and large shirts are available to try on at the office. Please call 453-5429 if you need more information.

​Fredericton Music Festival at The Playhouse

Monday, April 29th at 9:50am - the GNMES 3-5 Choir will be performing

Tuesday, April 30th at 9:30am - the GNMES K-2 Choir will be performing

Wednesday, May 1st - Tanya Wenseveen (OT) and Tracey Douglas. Possible topic - how parents can strengthen their children's fine and gross motor skills.

Friday, May 3rd - No school for students. This is a professional learning day for staff.​

Home & School Meeting -​ Monday, May 6th at 6pm in the Den. New members are always welcome!​​ 

Wednesday, May 8th - Stephanie Orr (Speech/ Language Pathologist) - will provide information on developing language skills for students entering Kindergarten.​​

Wednesday, April 24th at 1:30​ - Children, who will be entering Kindergarten in September 2019, and their parents are invited to the Kindergarten Orientation at Gibson-Neill.

Volunteers needed!  To make the movie night a success the Home & School Committee is in need of vounteers. If you are able to give an hour or 2 of your time please click the link below to sign up. This is the last movie night of the year and we hope to make it the most successful yet!

Easter Dinner orders are due by Monday, April 15th. Dinner will be served Thursday, April 18th. No other meals will be served that day. Meal with white milk is $6.25 or $6.30 with chocolate milk.​

Monday, April 1st  - Report Cards will be coming home with the students (Nope, it's not a joke!).

Monday, April 1st - Home & School Meeting at 6pm in the Den. Welcome to all new and returning members!​

Parent-Teacher Interviews - if you have not yet arranged a time to meet with you child's teacher please contact them directly. They love to talk about how well your child is doing!!

Friday, April 5th - No school for students as this a Parent-Teacher Interview and Professional Learning Day. Please note the Book Fair information below.​

Bus change for Thursday, March 21st only -students who take bus 248 at 3pm will be taking Bus 247 home. They will arrive 20 minutes later than their normal arrival time.


Friday, March 22nd - Professional Learning Day for Staff. Students do not have classes this Friday.

Thursday, March 21st - 6pm. Everyone is invited to attend the Sistema Spring Concert.

2pm  - Bus 263 (Sandra) will be taking ALL of Bus 244's (Lois's) students (K-2)


3pm - ALL of Bus 244's (Lois's) students are going on Bus 248 (Dave/Todd)

3pm only - Bus 248's students are going on Bus 247 (Danny).Bus 248 students will arrive 15-20 minutes later as Bus 247 students will be dropped off first.

Did You Know . . . If you have placed an online order through the cafeteria's website that you have until 9am the day your child is eating lunch to cancel the order? After this time the order payment becomes a credit on your account in the event your child is not at school that day. In the event of school cancellation day your account will be refunded. Please note that the school does not look after cafeteria orders so inquiries should be made to Chartwell's.

​Staff Appreciation Week - February 10th-15th - we are looking forward to the surprises the GNMES Home & School have prepared for our amzing staff this week!

Grade 3 Skating starts this Wednesday, February 13th, with Mrs. Benoit's and Mrs. Murphy's classes. Information has been sent home to parents. Volunteers must wear skates in order to be on the ice.

Friday, February 15th - Flag Day! This is the 54th anniversary of the official recogition of our beautiful Canadian Flag.​

​Grade 4 Skiing - Friday, February 15th - Madame Lalonde's and Ms. Curran's classes are heading to Crabbe Mountain. ​
