GNMES - Halloween celebration

Halloween is fast approaching, and since we can’t have our traditional Halloween Howl, we are planning for a Halloween celebration in the classrooms on October 28th.    Halloween is always an  exciting day for  students and we will have school-fun with  activities, centers and of course the most important part...treats.

We are asking for parents/guardians to send in a store bought, pre-packaged Halloween treat by October 23. (i.e. bag of bars, box of chips, bag of candy, cookies, fish crackers, stickers, pencils, granola bars)  All treats will be collected and then distributed to each class by two very special visitors on October 28th.  Can you  guess who?

Appropriate costumes for school on October 28th

    1. No Halloween masks (that cover all or part of the face) Students will still need to wear their covid mask.
    2. No scary or inappropriate costumes (and not too elaborate because the students still have work to do)
    3. No accessories because they are easily lost. (and especially no toy weapons of any kind)
    4. Students are encouraged to wear orange and black if they choose not to wear a costume

* The following Halloween guidance was provided by  EECD about GNB COVID-19 expectations in  the school environment:

    • Prepackaged store-bought treats only (no prepackaged homemade goods, fruit trays, etc.)
    • Homemade treats are not permitted to come from students homes, prepackaged treats are permitted
    • Peanut free
    • Do not permit students to take from a bowl of treats unless the treats are arranged so that children won’t come in contact with other treats when they grab theirs.

We really need your help to make this  Halloween fun during this pandemic year.  Thank you for your continued support and for sending in treats as soon as you can.
