Kats' Kitchen

Kats’ Kitchen food security program was formed in January 2016 as a response to student hunger in our school. It is organized and managed by a dedicated team of students and teachers who seek to foster learning potential by ensuring every student has access to a nutritious breakfast and lunch.

Breakfast

Breakfast is served every morning between 8:00 and 8:30 by student volunteers. It consists of grab-n-go items that include milk, juice, fruit, yoghurt, muffins, and cereal bars.

Lunch

Lunch is provided daily in partnership with the Fredericton Community Kitchen. Student volunteers serve sandwiches, milk, fruit, granola bars, cheese, crackers and eggs.

A Week in the Life of Kats’ Kitchen

400 to 500 breakfasts served

350 to 400 lunches served

350 lunches prepared every Wednesday for city schools

30 to 40 student volunteers meet every Monday at noon to plan and organize
