TP The Town at BCMS!

Do you find your home has an over-abundance of TP from the Covid pandemic hoarding scare? Did you buy a Costco-sized bag of TP and now have nowehere to put it in your home?  Do you want to support Fredericton Homeless and Emergency Shelters provide for our community?

Then BCMS is looking for your TP and sanitary items!  We have once again partnered up with FHS for TP the Town!  All month long, students are asked to bring in brand-new TP and sanitary items to their classrooms. Each roll is one point, and the grade level class with the most points at the end of April will win a pizza party!

Menstrual items and sanitary items such as body wash and deoderant is also accepted as donations!

Thank you for your support to TP the Town!

Gift Card Blitz is BACK!

Our annual BCMS Gift Card Blitz kicks off next Monday November 29th!  This is the time of year the BCMS family comes together to support one another. Families who are able to do so are encouraged to bring in a gift card or financial donation between Monday November 29th and December 17th.  The gift cards will then be re-distributed to BCMS families in need.

Please contact Mme LeGresley, guidance counsellor, with any questions you may have regarding this program, and THANK YOU for your contribution.

Mountain Bike Club news!

Hey, mountain bikers!

Come and meet Mme LeGresley and parent volunteers who you'll be shreddin' with: we are meeting today, Friday October 1st at the front of the school bike racks.  You will be divided up into skills level groups, and we can even give your bike a check over if you'd like! If you are checking your bike at home, make sure that your chain is not super dirty and greasy, your brakes are working well, your tires have enough air in the (but not too much!) and that you have a helmet!

For next Thursday's ride, please make sure to bring your bike, helmet and water bottle, as well as a change of clothes - we may get a little muddy!  You will eat your lunch at SSR when you get back to school.

Diversity and Respect week 2020
In our cafeteria, several dozen flags are on display.  These flags represent all of the nationalities in our building, along with Indigenous, lingsuistic and LGBTQI2S+ identities and expressions.  We are proud of our BCMS diversity, and we celebrate it under the theme of colors of a crayon box: we are like a box of crayons, each individual unique, but put us all together and the picture is complete!
Curious  to see what we go up to?  Check out our first -ever drone video!
November 18
the 10th annual Gift Card Blitz is here!

It’s that time of year again… our 10th annual Gift Card Blitz is ready for kick-off! This initiative directly supports our students by providing an extra helping hand to those families who struggle to make ends meet, especially during the holiday season.

Our “Blitz” runs this year from November 23rd to December 11th. Students and families can bring in gift cards to the school. These will be collected and distributed to BCMS families in need in December. If you do not have an opportunity to purchase a gift card but would still like to contribute, we will gladly accept financial donations to purchase a gift card on your behalf.

Reinforcing charitable values, community engagement, and showing empathy towards others demonstrates to students that they are part of a larger community. As members of that community, they have the responsibility to seek out opportunities to help those in need. This is one such way that students can feel good about helping others in their own school.

We thank you very much for your support with this endeavor and wish you all a happy holiday season.

Sincerely,

The Staff of BCMS
