WHAT DID WE DO TODAY?

Language Arts: Listened to Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, read independently for 15 minutes, and wrote about a goldfish.

Math: Completed a three-page work packet that covered such concepts as missing numbers on a number line, number of the day, comparing numbers, counting change, solving subtraction problems, counting backwards, and multiplication. ​

Art: Followed directions to draw a fantastic haunted house.

School Safety Week continues tomorrow with a bus evacuation drill.

WHAT DID WE DO TODAY?

Language Arts. Listened to a reading of Millions of Cats, read independently for 15 minutes, and wrote a story about a Cat.

Math. Completed a three-page work packet that explored concepts such as addition, time, counting coins, even or odd, creating patterns, representing numbers, skip counting, counting backwards and forwards, and multiplication. Two work packets from last week were sent home.

Social Studies. Began working on a scrapbook project based on Russia.

Mr. Campbell (Guidance Counsellor) came to class to discuss The Zones of Regulation.

November Hot Lunch Orders were sent home today, along with school picture envelopes, and information regarding an upcoming parent session for The Zones of Regulation.

School Safety Week continues tomorrow with a planned lock down drill.

WHAT DID WE DO TODAY?

Language:  Listened to a reading of Class Clown, read independently for 15 minutes, wrote a story about Ice Cream, and visited the Library to sign out books.

Math: Completed a three-page work packet that contained a Daily Math Review, October Spiral No. 7, and a Catch the Bug Multiplication Puzzle.

Art: Followed directed drawing instructions to produce a picture of Autumn Cornstalks and Pumpkins (currently on display outside our classroom).

Picture Day is scheduled for Monday, October 15th.

Next Week is School Safety Drills.

This week we will be finishing up our Daily Life Theme. Students will get to show what they have learned by completing a final project (at school).

 

Our communication outcomes will be: Qu'est-ce que tu préfères manger? (What do you prefer to eat?)

Qu'est-ce que tu fais pour rester en bonne santé? (What do you do to stay in good health)

 

Students will be receiving books to take home within the next week. Your child may bring home books, sight words or both to practice at home. Be sure to check their Communication Bag for more information.

Mathématiques: This week we will be finishing up our patterns unit as well as completing some pre-assessment before we jump into our number unit. Math facts such as "friends of ten" as well as simple addition and subtraction are great concepts to practice at home.

Language Arts: Listened to a reading of The Greedy Python, wrote a story about a Snake, completed a Word Ladder activity, made words from the letters in BASKETBALL, and read silently for 15 minutes.

Math: Completed a three-page packet that included a Daily Review, October Spiral No. 6, and a Catch the Bug Multiplication puzzle.

Science: Watched a short video about the Life Cycle of a Frog​ and completed a worksheet of same.

WHAT DID WE DO TODAY?

Language Arts: Listened to a reading of Submarine Adventure, read silently for 15 minutes, completed a Word Ladder, and wrote a story about a Submarine.

Math: Daily Review No. 5, and Multiplication Magical Mathematics (Hermione).

Art: Followed directed drawing instructions to produce a fantastic picture of a Dragon.

The UNB Nurses continued the discussion of nutrition, and then played a round of Nutrition Jeopardy with the class.

​A SOCK HOP is being held tomorrow during the lunch break. The cost is $2 if you wish to participate.

Math: Daily Math Review, Spiral Math, Multiplication Sheet (Harry Potter).

Science: The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Life Cycle of a Butterfly.

Fundraiser monies due tomorrow.

Language Arts: Listened to a reading of The Berestain Bears' Harvest Festival, read quietly for 15 minutes, completed a Making Words activity, and wrote a story about a Train. We also visited the Library to sign out some books.

Math: Completed a Fall Multiplication sheet.

Art: Drew a picture of a Scarecrow.
