A few important updates

When students get off the bus they are to go immediately to their classroom.  If they are having breakfast, they get their breakfast and go directly to their homeroom.

It is recommended by Public Health that students no longer carpool unless it is their family bubble.  This includes to and from school and when leaving the school at lunch time.

Middle school students must go outside weather permitting during lunch or to the gym if it is their scheduled day to be in the gym.  They must always be wearing their masks when they are outside.

For students who choose to stay home or parents who keep their child(ren) at home without a doctor’s note teachers are not obligated to provide them work.  Students who stay home are encouraged to go on teams for their work.  It will be the responsibility of the student (s) to catch up on any missed work when they come back to school

Public Health is the determining factor in indicating what happens at our school and all schools in the province.  I understand your concerns but at this time Belleisle Regional High School is open until otherwise directed by Public Health.

The following procedures will be in place while we are in the orange phase

1.       In orange phase NO field trips – one day trips are to be cancelled as per the orange guidelines.

2.       Public Schools Mask Use Students in Grades K-12 are required to wear a mask on a school bus, even when sitting alone or with a member of the same household.

3.       Students in Grades K-8 are always required to wear a mask at school, except when students are sitting at a desk working silently, 2 meters away from another individual, eating, or engaged in sports activities during physical education class. This includes when the students are outside.

4.       Students in Grades 9-12 are required to wear a mask at all times at school, except when students are eating, engaged in sports activities or during physical education class. This includes when the students are outside.

5.       Immunocompromised students should contact their health care provider for direction. Distance learning plans will be put in place. The IWK has defined immunocompromised as being a person who: is having chemotherapy currently or have within the last 6 months, is having radiation therapy, has received a bone marrow transplant in the last year or Graft Versus Host Disease, is a recipient of a solid organ transplant, has sickle cell disease, has a spleen that does not work, has a genetic cause for immune dysfunction, has HIV/AIDS, is taking immunosuppressive medication or has other history of immune suppression, as defined by a Physician.
