Winter Break Info

Dear ASD-S Families,

Our schools will be closing for the holiday break from noon today until Monday, January 10. Please note that Information regarding COVID-19 exposures will not be coming from the schools over the break. If Public Health determines that there was an exposure to COVID-19 at your school prior to the break, you will receive notification from the Province. This notification will be shared through School Messenger and will include a letter from Public Health. We ask families to please read any Public Health letters carefully and follow the instructions.  During this time, if you have any COVID-19 related questions, please write to COVID-19NB@gnb.ca as school staff are not available over the holiday break.

All students have been provided with rapid testing kits for use over the holidays. We encourage you to test your child regularly over the break, up to and including January 10, to help protect their loved ones and limit the spread of COVID-19 during the holiday and upon their return to school.

Schools will not be distributing test kits over the break. If you receive an exposure notification from the Province during the break and you require more rapid testing kits, please go to your local community distribution site.

I want to thank you again for your continued cooperation and support. Your patience as we work together to adjust to evolving health and safety measures is appreciated. We know that this has not been easy on families, staff, or students and we are grateful for your efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19 in our schools and communities.

Please continue to follow all Public Health safety measures over the break and encourage your child to do the same. This includes getting vaccinated, washing your hands and using sanitizer, wearing a mask, physical distancing, and staying home and getting tested if your child has even one symptom.

I hope you have a safe, restful, and happy holiday season and we look forward to welcoming your child back in the New Year.

Sincerely,

Zoë Watson

Superintendent
