Return to In-Person Learning

Dear ASD-S Families,

We learned last evening that the provincial government and CUPE have reached a tentative agreement. All of our CUPE staff will be returning to work including our EAs, administrative assistants, and bus drivers. Custodians will be in our schools today to prepare for staff and students’ return. Starting tomorrow, Monday, November 15, learning from home will end and we will be welcoming all students and staff back for in-person learning effective immediately.

Please watch for further communication from your child’s school as some schools may have specific information to share regarding the return to in-person learning. We thank you for your support and patience over the last 2 weeks. We know this has been difficult for staff and for our students and their families. We are pleased to hear that the government and CUPE have come to a tentative agreement and we look forward to seeing your child tomorrow.

Please remember that upon return to our schools we will continue to follow the safety measures outlined in the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development’s Healthy and Safe Schools Guidelines.  We know that COVID-19 is in our communities and by following these protocols, we will help minimize the spread of the virus.

Sincerely,

Zoё Watson,

Superintendent
