​Dear ASD-S High School Families and Students,

On Monday, April 12, all high school students will return to daily in-person classes.  Teachers will be welcoming all students back to full-time daily in-person learning.  Only students with medical documentation and previously identified as vulnerable will continue learning at home. 

While the synchronous or home learning component is being replaced by daily face-to-face learning, students should continue to bring their laptops to support their in-class learning.  Teachers will continue to use the new platforms and tools so that in the event of a school closure due to an outbreak, classes will be offered on-line for all students.  Posting materials on TEAMS to enhance learning, and the use of on-line tools which support best practices in assessment and instruction will be encouraged.

High School Operational Plans will be updated to reflect changes that will be in place when students return to in-person learning on April 12. This includes all staff and students wearing masks except when eating or while engaged in physical activity, masks on the school busses, teachers having a consistent seating plan for each class, drivers having a seating plan for each of their bus runs, and additional spaces being identified for students to use at noon and during breaks.       

While our high schools will not be hosting traditional end of year activities this year, such as proms, award ceremonies, Baccalaureate Services, traditional graduation ceremonies and Safe Grad, they will be working within Public Health and Public Safety protocols to ensure students are properly recognized and celebrated during this important milestone. Please note that graduations will be scheduled in the month of June 2021 and will abide by all NB Public Health and Public Safety requirements in effect at that time.  Families of graduates will receive specific school information later this spring.
