Jersey Day in support of the Humboldt Broncos Hockey Club

After learning of the devastating news involving the Humboldt Broncos Hockey Team, I was thinking of ways that our District (and possibly other District’s within the province) could show our support.

A group of hockey moms in Langley, B.C has launched a jersey campaign encouraging everyone to wear a sports jersey in support of the victims and families affected by this tragedy on Thursday, April 12th. I am challenging each school to take part.
Here is my proposal:
1)      Encourage everyone in your school to wear a jersey on Thursday, April 12th. Have an individual take a photo of everyone together and send it to jeff.gregor@nbed.nb.ca I will have my BBT students make a poster/collage of the participating schools to send to their team. (If you have a school logo as well please send that along so we can include it in the overall product).
2)      Have an open collection during the week (Tuesday – Friday) to take in donations for the victims & families. Put in on your announcements, send a synervoice, notify teachers, etc. I would like to see as many individuals in jerseys on Thursday so instead of setting a $1 or $2 to wear a jersey, it will be based off of donations only. You can send an e-transfer to jeff.gregor@nbed.nb.ca at the end of the week or a cheque to the following address:
Sir James Dunn Academy
180 King St.
St. Andrews, New Brunswick
E5B 1Y7

During extremely difficult times like these, it is amazing what a group of individuals can do together to help show support. Thank you all,
Jeff Gregor
