Art challenge for high school students

High school students in ASD-S are invited to submit seasonal artwork that will be professionally printed on the district’s official holiday card. A second winning design will be chosen for the holiday card of the New Brunswick Office of the Child and Youth Advocate. Both card designs will get lots of exposure as they will be sent far and wide to government officials and community partners.

The creator of the chosen design will have their name credited on the card, and will receive a framed copy of their original artwork, along with several copies of the card to send to their own family and friends.
·       Students must use HALF of an 8.5” x 11” piece of white paper (8.5” x 5.5”)
·       The design should be clear, colourful, and only two-dimensional (flat)
·       The orientation of the design can be either portrait or landscape
·       Avoid lettering, religious themes, and copyrighted characters
(Please note: The format of the final printed card will be rectangular with a white border, and will measure 5.5” x 4.25”.)
Please include:
·       Student’s name, school and grade level labeled clearly on the back of each piece of artwork
·        A completed entry form with each submission (contact kyle.peters@nbed.nb.ca to receive a reproducible copy of the entry form)
(Please label submissions carefully as it is our intent to return all artwork to students.)
All design submissions must be received at the Saint John Education Centre by 4:30 pm on Tuesday, November 28th, 2017.
For entry forms or samples of finalists from previous years, contact kyle.peters@nbed.nb.ca.
