Attention Reach for the Top PlayersAt lunch, seniors will practice with Mr. Thorne and new grade 10-11-12 players will practice with Mr. Brideau. There will also be a senior level practice after school open to all players. 

 

Renaissance – Could all members of Renaissance please meet on Thursday, October 6th at 12:30 in Mrs. Wrights Room, Room 136 in the Math Wing.  New members are welcome!

 

Boardgame Club is meeting in Mr. Gilbert’s room, Room 230 at lunch today.  Come play some games from the large collection on hand.  Come build a Coastal Reef with the game Reef.

 

Philosophy Club meets today in Mr. Standring’s Room, room 119.

 

Mrs. Humphries’ grade 12 leadership class is organizing “Trick or Eat” during the month of October. We are looking for as many participants as possible. This is a battle between each grade to bring the most canned goods to donate to the food bank at the end of this month. 

 

Students will see posters on the wall the following utensils represents each grade level:

  • grade 9 is spoon
  • grade 10 is knife 
  • grade 11 is spork
  • grade 12 is fork. 

Drop off your canned goods outside room 117 in the grade bin associated to you. Teachers, you can participate too, you will have the spatula on the wall, can we beat the students?

 

Attention Blue Crew! Pink Week is coming up next week and we need your help to make it amazing! There will be a meeting for all Blue Crew members interested in helping with Pink Week today at the beginning of lunch in the theatre.

 

Computer Club on Thursday at lunch in room 285. Currently recruiting for new members for our CyberTitan teams.  CyberTitan is one of Canada’s largest cyber defense competitions. Students are in the position of newly hired IT professionals. In the rounds of competition, teams are given a set of virtual images that represent operating systems and are tasked with finding cybersecurity vulnerabilities within the images and hardening the system while maintaining critical services.  

KVHS Field Hockey team improved to 3 – 0 with a 5 – 0 win against Simonds High.  Goal scorers ere Morgan Appleby with 2, singles from Olivia McLeod, Oliva Snyder and Anna Kretz.  Claire Mills recorded the shut out.

 

Congratulations to the Girls’ soccer team for winning 9 -0 against RNS.  1 goal scored by Meagan Skedgel, 4 goals scored by Maddy Joyce and 4 scored by Anita Jonsson.

 

This Week’s Wellness tip – Read your favourite book whenever you find time to take a break.

 

Big shout out to the Golf Team on their outstanding performance this past weekend at the Regionals.  Nate Adams lead the team  with a Tournament low of 74 as they beat the second place team FHS by 16 strokes.  Good luck to the Team as they head to Moncton this Friday for provincials.​
