Title

Welcome back to school September 2021

Body

Teachers will be returning to school the week of August 30th, 2021. Teachers will be contacting families to introduce themselves and to provide a date for student start-up. This year we will have staggered entry as per last year ( 1/3 of school on Tuesday, 1/3 on Wednesday, 1/3 on Thursday and the entire school - all together on Friday, September 10, 2021.

Just a reminder as per the home report, we will be collecting a student fee for all school supplies. Originally, we had requested $40 but with smart shopping and help from local venders we require only $20/child. This will cover all school necessities other than indoor sneakers, water bottles clean face masks (container to put them in durning class time), lunch bag and pencil case. So please ensure all these items, including the fee, arrive with your child on the first day of school. Thank you

Registration forms for the lunch program, similar to last year, will be sent home on the first day of school but lunch will be provided for all students the first week of school. The meal will consists of grilled cheese sandwiches and veggie sticks...and Friday, Pizza will be served for the entire school. Please provide a snack for your child every day.

Unfortunately, there will not be an open house this year due to COVID protocol...in lieu teachers will provide all pertinent information when they reach out to families next week. Remember please, masks are required to enter the build for all students, staff and limited visitors - masks are necessary in all common areas but may be removed in classrooms.

If any parent/guardian is interested in the joining the PSSC please indicate to your child's teacher or contact the main office at 506 658-5357 during the first week of school. If there is more interest than available 'seats' then an election will be held; further details to follow.

As per last year, morning entry will be at 8:10 - 8:25 am...Middle school enters via the Boxing Club door, 3-5 Pitt Street side entrance and K-2 will enter at the front door of the building. Due to limited visitors in the school parents may not enter in the morning. This also helps teachers have more quality time with your child; building relationships. If you have a message to be passed along the duty teachers will have clip boards to take messages.

We are really looking forward to working closely with all the families; we value your advice and input. You are key to your child's success and therefore school success.

Please feel free to connect Christine Roy - Principal at 506 658-5357 and Leslie Hamilton-Brown - VP at 506 647-4101. Happy end of summer.
