Qualifications

Qualifications:

The successful applicant will be a high school graduate with a strong customer service background.  A demonstrated competency in the effective use of social media platforms (see above for specifics) is a strong asset.  Customer service in an office setting and/or post-secondary education in a related field is a benefit, but not required.  Proficiency in English is required; French language skills are an asset but not required. ​

Job Description

 Anglophone South School District, in partnership with the Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour (PETL), invites applications for the following contract position:

 

Work Room Coordinator Assistant

 Work Room Career Resource Centre (Kennebecasis Valley High School)

Term Position; 36.25 hours per week

Effective:  Immediately to March 31, 2022 (with likelihood of extension)

 

Description:

The Work Room Coordinator Assistant fulfills a customer service role and is the first point of contact with the public.  The Coordinator Assistant provides information on programs and services available through the Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour (PETL) and The Work Room. The Assistant assists clients with career-related resource materials, copies of resumes, using public access computers, and accessing workshops conducted through The Work Room. The Coordinator Assistant is responsible for supporting The Work Room Coordinator and maintaining a professional work environment at The Work Room (see specific duties below).

 

This position is a non-union position effective immediately to March 31, 2022 with a salary of $1,087.50 bi-weekly. 

 

Specific Duties:

·         Provide excellent customer service to clients of The Work Room: ensure timely and efficient communication in person, by phone, and virtually as required; maintain a professional and welcoming demeanor as the “front line” face of The Work Room  

·         Work with the Coordinator to schedule appointments and serve clients

·         Manage, under the direction of the Coordinator, the various social media platforms employed by The Work Room (including, but not limited to: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram) to promote its various initiatives, programs and events

·         Track job postings, career-related information, and available resources

·         Assist with research projects as required

·         Maintain and update job postings

·         Data entry using Microsoft Excel

·         Ensure resources (catalogues, website and social media links, brochures, etc.) are current

·         Assist with programs/workshops/presentations conducted through The Work Room, as required; prepare workshop materials

·         Typical clerical office duties as required to ensure the smooth operation of The Work Room and to maintain a professional work environment for both clients and staff (including, but not limited to: mail management, equipment monitoring/servicing, ordering office supplies, etc.)
