QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school, or GED, and a minimum of two years’ experience in storekeeping work, including experience in a supervisory capacity; or any equivalent combination of training and experience. A comprehensive knowledge of standard procedures for purchasing and storage of supplies and materials is necessary. Ability to operate a computer and appropriate software programs is required.
STOREKEEPER
DEFINITION:
This is responsible work in the operation of a stockroom or warehouse. Work includes ordering, receiving, checking, distributing and maintaining supplies and materials; maintaining records; requisitioning supplies; providing information required for tender calls; developing storage methods; performing minor repairs; maintaining a clean and safe work area. Employees of this class may occasionally supervise temporary help. Supervisory tasks include assigning and monitoring work and evaluating performance. Employees of this class have the ability to solve work problems requiring the application of established policies, procedures and regulations. Performance is reviewed by a designated superior through discussions, observations, inspections, reports and overall results achieved for conformance with established standards.
