Anglophone South School District, in partnership with the Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour (PETL), invites applications for the following contract position:
Work Room Coordinator Assistant
Work Room Career Resource Centre (Kennebecasis Valley High School)
Term Position; 36.25 hours per week
Effective: January 4 to March 31, 2021 (with possibility of extension)
Description:
The Workroom Coordinator Assistant is responsible for interacting with the public to answer questions relative to programs and services available through the Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour (PETL) and The Work Rooms. The successful candidate will be informed of all programs and services offered and be able to direct members of the public as to the organizational representative. The successful candidate will also assist clients with career-related resource materials in preparing them for meetings with an employment counsellor, copies of resumes or access to any workshops conducted through The Work Rooms. The Workroom Coordinator Assistant is responsible for maintaining a professional work environment at The KV Work Room and ensure office equipment, i.e. computers, photocopier are working properly, and resource information is current.
This position is a non-union position effective January 4 to March 31, 2021 with a salary of $1,087.50 bi-weekly.
Specific Duties:
· Manage phone and online messages, emails and respond/forward as deemed appropriate
· Assist Work Room Coordinator in scheduling appointments between centres
· Ability to serve clients virtually
· Demonstrated competency in the use of various social media platforms including: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram
· Track job postings, career-related information, and available resources
· Open and distribute office mail
· Assist with research projects as required
· Maintain and update job postings
· Prepare and update statistical reports on those accessing the centre
· Update Resource Catalogue Inventory
· Assist with programs/workshops/presentations conducted through the Work Room (when required)
· Maintain office supplies and inventory
· Regular monitoring to ensure computers/fax/photocopiers are running properly
Qualifications:
Graduation from high school including or supplemented by business education courses including computer courses and other courses relative to the position assignment, or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Proficiency in English and French is an asset but not a requirement.
