Milltown Elementary Bike Rodeo & K-Kids Little Free Library

These are pics from MES Kiwanis K-Kids Bike Rodeo on May 25.  The students worked the event – collecting donations, selling popcorn, water, and juice boxes, and selling tickets to win a new bike that was donated by Canadian Tire.  Lisa Williams, the Community Programs Officer with the RCMP, led the rodeo.  The students raised $164.15 for Relay for Life.  At the event, we held the grand opening of the K-Kids Little Free Library.  Everyone one is welcome to take a book and return book.  Our Little Free Library is housed in the lobby at MES.  A second library will be placed at the Milltown Convenience store within the next couple of weeks.

Rodeo participants could earn one free ticket on the bike raffle by bringing book donations for the Little Free Library.  The k-Kids fundraised for the libraries by holding a “Frozen Party” at the school in February.  The SSHS woodshop class built the libraries.
