Good afternoon Hawk families. This is a message from Mrs. Blanchard, Principal at Hampton Elementary School. We were able to compile 3 – 30 minute videos with all the wonderful videos submitted for Career Week.
Drop Off and Dismissal Safety: Please remember the speed limit on School Street is 20 km/hr. In addition, please do not pass busses which are preparing to unload or load our students.
Skating: This is week 2 of the skating classes. Half of our classes go one week, and half the other. The following classes skate this week: Monday: 3Prosser & 5 Bradshaw, Tuesday: 4Vallis & 2Reay, Wednesday: 4Shannon & 2Bendixen, and Thursday: 4Harlow & 3Kennedy. It is a good idea to practice tying skates over the weekend! If your child does not have access to skates and a helmet, please reach out to the classroom teacher as we have sets to loan. Each classroom will have access to ice time for 45 minutes every two weeks for 5 sessions.
Remembrance Day: The Legion Remembrance Day Poster and Writing contest entries were due Friday, Nov. 13th however they won’t be picked up until Monday so if you have any further submissions they must go to the office first thing on Monday.
PSSC Meeting: Monday evening our PSSC meets at 6:30pm in the library. Please remember to wear your mask and physically distance in the library!
Friday, November 20th: There is no school for students on Friday. Teachers will be working through student assessments and completing Report Cards as well as continued learning with our online teaching platforms.
Scholastic Book Fair: We will be hosting a virtual fair so families can purchase books online using the following link: Virtual Book Fair https://bookfairs-canada.myshopify.com/pages/5151731
Families are invited to go on this link now to access book trailers and see the book options. On Nov 30th, the virtual fair will go live and you will be able to order. Shipping will be to the purchaser’s home (free for orders of $35 or more; $6 flat rate for less than $35). Hampton Elementary families are welcome to share this link with family members, friends and neighbours as the school will receive book credits for our classrooms. A free shipping event will be held Wednesday evening, Dec. 3 6-8pm! A great opportunity to reinforce your child’s effort this first term and gifts for the holidays!
Parent Teacher meeting Appointments: Parent Teacher meetings will be scheduled online this year and occur virtually on Thursday, Dec. 3rd 4-7pm and Friday, Dec, 4th from 8:30-11:30 am in 15-minute blocks. You will book an appointment for a specific teacher and both you and the teacher will receive an email confirmation. (If you use office 365, the meeting will appear in your calendar). An appointment reminder will be sent to your email one day and then one hour before the meeting time. Only available times will appear to choose from so it is best to book early to avoid disappointment. Families can easily sign up using the following link:
