KVHS Morning Announcements

GENERAL INFO
·        The KV Workroom is closed today
 
·        Mr. Doiron’s period 5 PE class will meet in Lab 292 today.
 
·        Attention advisory teachers: we are in need of about 8 students who would be willing to volunteer time either at lunch or after school to help paint the musical billboards. Please email their names to Ms. Nicholson.
 
ACADEMICS
·        Are you interested in building your leadership skills? On April 17th at KVHS we are hosting a one day student leadership conference with the Canadian Student Leadership Conference with the Canadian Student Leadership association. The cost to attend is $25 and includes lunch. To register please see Mrs. Wright in room 136 by April 10th.
 
·        Any students interested in COOP for nursing, trades, naval reserve or Idea Center please see Mr. Doiron in room 291 during advisory.
 
GRADS
·        Hey grads! Thursday will be a grad class denim day. Make sure to come dressed in all your denim.
 
GUIDANCE
·        There are many new scholarships that have been posted outside the guidance centre including one for former Fundy Minor Football players, referees, one for students pursuing the trades and one for former Fairvale Elementary students. Come and check them out!
 
·        Applications for COOP 120, Reading Tutor 120 and PE Leadership are now available in the guidance office.
 
·        Regret not applying for university at UNB? Good news! You’ve got a second chance. UNB will be here Wednesday morning to do Admissions on the Spot for students who have not yet applied and they are waiving the $65 admission fee! Please sign up in guidance if you are interested.
 
CLUBS
·        The Me to We Club will be running a KD drive next week starting Monday, March 25 and ending Friday, March 29. This will be an advisory competition and the advisory who collects the most boxes of Kraft Dinner will win a prize! Advisory teachers: be on the lookout for a Power Point coming this week with more information!
 
·        A reminder – the District Speak Out Competition is coming up on April 11th. See Mrs. McCord in room 411 or your English teachers if you are interested in competing in Oratory or Spoken Word Poetry.
 
·        All GSA members are asked to pick up their Outshine permission slips from Mrs. Flower today in room 404.
 
·        Debate Club will hold a meeting in Mr. O’Brien’s room, room 414, at lunch today. All are welcome! There will be no photography club meeting today.
 
·        The Concert Band will be selling ice cream sundaes in the cafeteria for $2 at lunch on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Bring a toonie and support the band!
