KVHS Morning Announcements

GENERAL INFO
·        Shelley from the sexual health program will be here today from 9am until noon to provide free, confidential services such as birth control, help with pregnancy concerns, STI testing and treatment. Also at KV Oasis Youth Center from 3:30pm -5pm today as well.
 
·        The KV Workroom will be closed: Friday, March 22 and Monday, March 25
 
·        Popcorn will be on sale today at lunch for $1.00
 
ACADEMICS
·        Are you interested in building your leadership skills? On April 17th at KVHS we are hosting a one day student leadership conference with the Canadian Student Leadership Conference with the Canadian Student Leadership association. The cost to attend is $25 and includes lunch. To register please see Mrs. Wright in room 136 by April 10th.
 
GRADS
·        Hey grads! Thursday will be a grad class denim day. Make sure to come dressed in all your denim.
 
·        Grads! If you got grad clothes in the second order, come to Mrs. Lanigan’s room, 115, during advisory to collect them.
 
·        Attention grads! There have been forms with a question for you to answer placed in advisory teacher mailboxes! Please have these in by Monday.
 
 
GUIDANCE
·        There are many new scholarships that have been posted outside the guidance centre including one for former Fundy Minor Football players, referees, one for students pursuing the trades and one for former Fairvale Elementary students. Come and check them out!
 
ATHLETICS
·        Jr Boys volleyball practice today at 4pm
 
CLUBS
·        The Me to We Club will be running a KD drive next week starting Monday, March 25 and ending Friday, March 29. This will be an advisory competition and the advisory who collects the most boxes of Kraft Dinner will win a prize! Advisory teachers: be on the lookout for a Power Point coming this week with more information!
 
·        Car Club will meet today at 3:30pm
 
·        Would the students interested in participating in the featured artist project please meet in Ms. Nicholson’s art room at 12:30pm for a quick meeting
 
·        A reminder – the District Speak Out Competition is coming up on April 11th. See Mrs. McCord in room 411 or your English teachers if you are interested in competing in Oratory or Spoken Word Poetry.
