KVHS Morning Announcements

GUIDANCE
·         Want to know more about university life from a former KVHS grad? Wondering if living away from home is for you? Come to the workroom on Thursday over the noon hour to hear all about university life? 11/15
 
·         The University of New Brunswick will be here on Monday, December 3rd for on the spot admissions.  Students must apply and pay online before attending.  Please sign up in the Guidance Centre for an appointment time. 12/3
 
·         The TD Scholarship for Community Leadership has arrived in the Guidance Office.  Applications are available for pick up.  They are due November 16th. 11/16
 
·         Any Students interested in attending Queen’s University to study Commerce should check out the D & R Sobey Atlantic Admission Award posted in the Guidance Centre.
 
·         Mount Allison University will be here on Monday, November 19th to have individual meetings with interested students:  Please sign up in Guidance for an appointment time.  If you meet with them, the recruiters will give you an online code that will waive the admission fee. 11/19
 
·         Information on the Terry Fox Humanitarian Award (value $28000) is available in the guidance department. 11/16
 
·         The University of King’s College will be in the workroom today from 12:30pm – 1:15pm
 
·         The Future Health Research & Innovation Scholarship has arrived in the guidance department. Check it out!! 11/15
 
·         Interested in learning more about Chinese culture and travelling to major cultural and historical sites in China?? The China Summer Cultural Program for New Brunswick students will be travelling from NB to China from July 3-20, 2019 on an all inclusive trip. The deadline for application is December 7, 2018. If interested, please see Ms. Levesque for details.
 
EVENTS
·         In support of Safe Grad 2019 – Jaryd Stanley in concert Thursday, December 6 at 7pm in the KVHS theatre. Tickets are $20 and are available in the KVHS office and at Guardian Drugs.
 
·         Book Sale – Renaissance will be having its 10th annual Used Book Sale on Friday, November 16 and Saturday, November 17. The sale will open to KVHS staff and students after school. The sale runs on the Friday from 6-9pm and Saturday from 10am – 4pm in the KVHS cafeteria. If you have books to donate please bring them to Mrs. Wright in room 136 (math wing).
 
·         Its that time of year again KV!! Come to the cafeteria to pick up your Operation Christmas Child boxes or to Mr. Rice’s advisory for more information.
 
 
CLUBS – TEAMS
·         Chess – Attention Chess enthusiasts! KVHS Chess Club will be meeting on Thursdays at lunch time in Mr. Marin’s class (room 245, in the wing above the math wing). The district tournament is coming up in early December, so please see Mr. Marin if you are interested in attending.
 
·         Could all members of Renaissance please meet today at 12:30pm in Mrs. Wright’s room, room 136. New members are always welcome!
 
 
MUSIC - DRAMA – THEATRE – ART
 
·         Today’s Blue Tones rehearsal is for sopranos and altos only. Meet in the rehearsal room at 3:45pm.
 
·         KVHS Concert Band is selling Saint John Sea Dog flex tickets as a fund raiser.  These are flex tickets that can be used at any home game until March 10. If you would like to purchase tickets please contact Ms. Palmer or any band member. The band will be playing the national anthem at the Sea Dogs game on Wednesday, November 21st. Come out to the game and support the band!
 
·         For all students auditioning for the musical – there will be a change in one of the dates for singing auditions. There will be no audition on Monday, November 26. This will be moved to Friday, November 30th. If you already signed up for the 23rd you will need to come back to the Arts Board to sign up again.
 
 
SPORTS
·         Attention all Crusaders! Today is the day! Rip Seely is tonight! Boys will play at 6pm and girls will play at 8pm. Admission is $2 for students and $5 for adults. Come out and support the team!
 
·         Congratulations to the girls hockey team who beat RHS 5-2 in the home opener. The boys team lost but are travelling to St. Stephen tonight. Good luck to them!
