KVHS Morning Announcements

·         Olivia Chapman is our first winner in the library reading contest!
 
·         Mr. Rice’s grade 10 PE classes are asked not to change and to report to room 274 today!

GUIDANCE
·         If you are interested in being nominated to be the school representative for the Schulich Leader Scholarship, please submit a letter of intent and a resume to the guidance department by Friday, December 14th. The Schulich Leader Scholarship is for students pursuing a degree in STEM (science, technology, engineering, math). 12/14
 
·         The University of New Brunswick will be here on Monday, December 3rd for on the spot admissions.  Students must apply and pay online before attending.  Please sign up in the Guidance Centre for an appointment time. 12/3
 
·         Any Students interested in attending Queen’s University to study Commerce should check out the D & R Sobey Atlantic Admission Award posted in the Guidance Centre.
 
·         The New Brunswick Teen Apprentice Program is now accepting applications for the 2019 Summer Work Term. Qualifying students in Grade 10 or 11 will be reached and mentored on the job over two or three paid summer work terms. NB TAP student apprentices will learn practical trade and workplace skills and get a head start on an exciting career in the skilled trades. If you are interested in this exciting opportunity please see Mrs. Levesque in Guidance.
 
  
EVENTS
·         In support of Safe Grad 2019 – Jaryd Stanley in concert Thursday, December 6 at 7pm in the KVHS theatre. Tickets are $20 and are available in the KVHS office and at Guardian Drugs. Please call 651-6446 for reserved seating.
 
·         Attention all Crusaders! There are now 150 more cab tickets available for purchase for $10. You need your student ID to purchase a ticket and you can get them from Mrs. Hawkes in the library. Your ID will be required at the door in order to get in.
 
GRADS
·         Attention all grads! This is a reminder that your grad photos are due December 21st. If you have questions about how to submit them or you haven’t received a form to do so, contact the yearbook team!
 
CLUBS – TEAMS
·         There is an important debate club meeting Tuesday at lunch in Mrs. Toner’s room.
 
ATHLETICS
 
·         Non-contact flag rugby is on Sunday from 12-1pm, all girls welcome, new players encouraged to join!
 
·         Congratulations to our JV Boys Basketball team on winning yet another tournament! Our boys went 301 to take home the trophy!
 
·         The girls hockey team hosted a successful tournament this weekend. They finished the round robin with two wins and one loss putting them in the semi-finals. The girls worked hard but lost a close game to St. Macs. The action continues tonight at the Rothesay arena and then tomorrow at 6:15pm at the Qplex.
