GUIDANCE:
Any Grade 12 students who wants to be a school sponsored candidate for the Loran Award Scholarship – a Scholarship for students who show exceptional character, service and leadership – need to submit a Resume and a Letter of Intent outlining future plans to Guidance by Friday, September 21, 2018.
 
Shelly from the Sexual Health Program will be here today from 9:00 a.m. until noon to provide free, confidential services such as Birth Control, help with pregnancy concerns, STI testing and treatment.  Also at KV Oasis Youth Centre from 3:30 – 5:00 today as well.

Attention Crusaders!  Clear your schedule next Monday for “Crusaders for a Cure”.  This event will kick off Pink Week with fun games on the field, and a delicious BBQ.  And bring a glow stick to walk in support of a Cure for Cancer.  Admission is by donation.  We hope to see you all there!
 
Hey Crusaders!  Pink week is next week!  There will be activities during lunch and snacks on sale.  All money raised will be donated to help find a cure for cancer.  Also, pink day is next Friday!  So be sure to come to school in all your pink!
 
Advisories:  Please start thinking about a way to raise money at the Advisory Fundraising Market next Wednesday.  The Advisory who make the most money will get an amazing prize!

For anyone interested in being a writer, page designer or photographer for the yearbook, there will be a meeting at lunch today in Mrs. Galbraith’s room, 133.
 
CLUBS – TEAMS
 
There will be a meeting for the Me to We club on Friday in Mrs. Pynn’s room , Room 307 in the business wing by the Culinary Tech class.  New and returning members are invited to attend this introductory meeting.
 
GSA will meet today in Room 404 at lunch.  New and returning members are welcome.
 
Cyber Titan practice will be on Friday this week at lunch in Room 285.  If you are interested in Cyber Security, come join us.  Test your skills on Windows 10, Windows Service and Ubunto operating systems.
 
MUSIC - DRAMA – THEATRE
 
The first Coffee House of the year will be Wednesday, September 19th.  There will be tables set up for you to play all your favorite board games.  Feel free to bring one too.  Admission will be $5.00 and you will have free food and coffee all night.
 
Are you a Singer? Poet?  If so, sign up to perform at next week’s Coffee House!  The sign up sheet is on the Arts Board in the English Wing.
 
The Board game Coffee House is Wednesday, September 19th at 6:30 in the Cafeteria.
 
Do you play Bass Drums or Lead Guitar? Do you want to play soft music that most people can enjoy?  If so, this may not be for you.  However, if you want to play in a Metal Band and rock the house, you should check with Mr. Ouellet asap only 2 minutes left to midnight.  Room 237.
 
The Cast List for “Nothing is the End of the World” is posted on the Performing Arts Bulletin Board.  Congratulations to the Cast and thank you to all who auditioned.  The first read through of the play is today after school at 3:45 in Mr. Sutton’s room.  All cast members please attend.
 
Concert Band will be meeting after school today in the Theatre.  All Concert Band students are reminded of our rehearsal after school today in the theatre.  See you there!
 
 
 
Applications to join the Tech Crew are now available from Mr. Dallon or any member of the Crew.  These must be returned to Mr. Dallon by Wednesday, September 19th.
 
SPORTS
 
KVHS is hosting a Field Hockey Tournament this Friday/Saturday.  9 teams involved, 4 from KVHS.  Grade 9’s will be asking the last period teacher to leave class Friday at 3:00 p.m. with your permission.
 
All Field Hockey Players that need to pick up a jersey must see Mr. Doiron in room 291.  Tournament schedules are also available.
 
Any Field Hockey Players interested in playing goalie this weekend, please see Mr. Doiron in Room 291.  
 
There is a Cross Country meeting at 12:30 today in Mrs. Mawer’s room (#002).  Any Cross Country team members who are attending the meet in Hampton on Saturday should attend this meeting.  See you there!
 
JV Girls soccer team won their first game of the season with a 2 – 0 score against Saint John High.  Goals scored by Meghan Whalen and Megan Craig.
 
The Girls’ softball team beat Sussex yesterday by a score of 12 – 6.  Awesome job girls!
 
Hockey Tryout forms are due by Friday, September 14th.  The fee for Tryouts is $105, not $120 as stated on the form.
