Take Our Kids To Work Day

Take Our Kids to Work™ is the signature program of The Learning Partnership, a national charitable organization dedicated to supporting, promoting and advancing public education in Canada. Now in its 21st year, Take Our Kids to Work annually involves more than 250,000 students in a day of career exploration and learning about the skills required in the world of work. More than 75,000 businesses and organizations also participate. On Wednesday, November 14th, Grade 9 students across Canada will spend the day at the workplace of a parent, relative, friend or volunteer host.

Workplace health and safety is a vital aspect of the Take Our Kids to Work program. It is essential that both students and parents receive information about health and safety prior to their workplace visit.  We encourage parents to be aware of the work that their children are engaging in on this day and ask questions about the health and safety provisions.  Links to national organizations with workplace health and safety expertise and materials can be accessed through thelearningpartnership.ca.

Please ensure that your son/daughter returns the signed permission slip that was given out Wednesday during English class on time to Riverview High School before Nov 7th.  If you have any questions about this day, please contact your son/daughter’s advisor.
