Royal Capstone Program Launch

Do you know a grade 12, 11, or 10 student who wants the opportunity to learn and demonstrate growth in an area of interest as they work in small teams or independently to further develop their ability to self-direct their learning and work? This semester RHS is offering the Royal Capstone Program, a new initiative that has students tapping into their interest, motivations, and passions to learn deeply about a topic, while developing their ability to work independently, give back to the community, communicate and collaborate with others, and creatively problem-solve in sustainable ways.

Students will undertake project management including project identification and proposal, meeting with mentors, planning and scheduling, researching and development, reflection, reporting, publishing, creating, and presenting. Students may choose a topic that extends the curriculum of a course or one that combines different disciplines. The topic, while personally relevant, will also have implications beyond the student to the school community.

The Royal Capstone Program will provide learners with a challenging and engaging experience that will help them develop the skills, knowledge, and attitudes to be successful in an increasingly complex and unpredictable world. For more information, please review the program description and application form on the Documents section of our school web site. https://secure1.nbed.nb.ca/sites/ASD-E/schools/rhsroyals/School%20Documents/Royal%20Capstone%20Program%20-%20Description%20and%20Application.pdf

Application forms can also be picked up from and returned to the school’s office or Ms. Lamey. Please contact Ms. Lamey (laura.lamey@nbed.nb.ca) or Mr. Reath (jason.reath@nbed.nb.ca) for more information.
