Parental Information on Child Exploitation & Internet Safety

As part of The City of Moncton’s Public Safety Advisory Committee lunch and learn series, we will be hosting a session regarding Child/Youth internet luring and safety issues to educate parents, social service professionals, non-profit service providers, on what is happening in our community with this problem and what resources are available to help deal with it.

This free session is open to the general public and professionals in the community.  The session will be held at the Peace Centre (main auditorium) located at 22 Church Street (Access will also be available from the side entrance on Queen Street): Tuesday, June 13th from Noon – 1:30 p.m.  A light lunch will be provided at the session.

This session will be providing a brief overview of what the ICE unit investigates and what trends they see among young people as users of technology in terms of internet use and safety concerns.  Examples of the types of offences they see will be discussed and some food for thought will be provided to the parents when looking to avoid such offences relating to their kids.

To register or for more information on these free information sessions please call 855-8525 or email rgallant@ravenssun.ca
