Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome back and Happy New Year to everyone!  We are excited to be back with the students this new year.

Grade four students finished the year with a project that helped the homeless. The whole school got involved! We want to thank everyone who generously supported this project.  We were able to make a huge donations to help provide Christmas Dinners for the homeless. As well, we were able to donate many welcome kits and other useful items.  Thank you Hillsborough Community, your support was greatly appreciated.  It made a difference for many people.

We have had some cold days over the holidays! It is important that children are dressed for outdoor play.  Extra mittens are a good idea.  We are happy to accept mitten donations. We always have students looking for mittens!

For our younger students, dressing for cold temperatures is taking a bit more time. Please encourage your child to do this on his/her own. Independence is an important skill we want all students to develop!

Please remember that morning supervision begins at 8:15am. Students should not arrive before this time.  The first bell

rings at 8:35 and the second bell at :8:40 when  classes begin. Please have students at school by 8:40 so they do not miss

any learning. Thank you.

Susan Wilmot

Allergy Alert – Please remember, HES is a nut free school as we have some students with severe allergies to nuts.  Thank you for helping ensure our students are safe by not sending food with nut products.
