Dear Parents/Guardians,

December is upon us along with plans for Christmas activities and events at Hillsborough Elementary School. First, let me say thank you for coming to our recent Parent/Teacher interviews.  Communicating about your child’s progress is an important part of supporting student learning.

The Home and School pie order has been placed. Thank you to all those who sold pies and to those who ordered pies.  The pies will be delivered this week on Friday, Dec. 7th. The truck will be at the school from 2pm-6pm. Please stop by to pick up your child’s pie order.  We will have copies of the orders there.  THANK YOU for all your support! Winners will be announced this week at an assembly!  A few more notes from the Home and School Association:

  • Home and School information can be found on Facebook by searching for Hillsborough Home and School Association.

  • Please consider becoming a member – contact the school if you would like a member ship form.

  • Tickets for front row seating at the Christmas Concert (and VIP parking) will be sold prior to the concert. A separate communication will be sent this week from the Home and School.

  • H&S will be organizing the Shopping Party on Dec. 20th – Please send in gently used items before this date. Our students enjoy shopping for family and friends at this event!  (More information coming soon including volunteer sign up.)

Again this year, Anglophone East will support local food banks with their “Fill the Bus” campaign.  Students are invited to bring non-perishable food items to contribute to this event.  The bus will arrive to pick up items on Dec. 18th.

And don’t forget about our school project to help the homeless. Grade 4 student are concerned about those who are homeless and have given each class a list of items that would help. If you are able to contribute something on the list, it will make a difference. Thank you.

As this will be the last newsletter before the Christmas holidays, the staff here at Hillsborough Elementary School want to wish you a safe and joyous Christmas holiday and we look forward to your return in January of 2019!
