May 7th – NBTA Council Day – No school for students
May 21st – NBTA Branch Day – No school for students
May 24th – Victoria Day
– Schools closed
It is hard to believe that it is
already the month of May! We are happy
that we have been able to remain in school all this time. I want to thank our
students, staff, and community for following Public Health directives and the
school’s Covid operational plan which allowed this to happen.
With the nicer weather and more
daylight hours, it is important to keep routines in place, including completing
homework and bedtimes. This will help
students be more successful at school as they complete daily learning tasks.
As part of the guidance plan at
our school, students have been learning about resiliency. Resiliency is the ability
to cope when things go wrong. It means you can bounce back after difficult times. This
is an important skill in life.
Strategies can be used to help us be more resilient. One strategy, students have learned, is to
talk to a safe adult when you are experiencing a difficult situation. See below for more ways to build resiliency.
This month, students received
information about school clothing that can be purchased. Clothing orders are
due Tuesday, May 11th.
Clothing is expected approximately two weeks after this date. Thank you to the Home and School for
coordinating this opportunity. The Home
and School would also like to thank those who have purchased 50/50
squares. There are still a few squares
left. Please contact the school or Nancy
Hill at email@example.com
a square (or to purchase another square).
