Dear Parents/Guardians,

November is upon us already! Many staff and students enjoyed dressing up this week and participating in our Halloween parade to Fundy Manor.  The day also included multi-age activities for older students and younger students to work and learn together. We expect that many students participated in other Halloween activities that included lots of treats. We ask that treats be limited at school. These can be enjoyed at lunch time so that healthy morning snacks can still be a part of the students’ day. Thank you.

A big “Thank You” to our Home and School Association & Milton Mile Farms for a fun filled evening on Oct. 21st.  Students and their families had a lot of fun in the corn maze, collecting treats and finding their way through the maze. Some even did this in the dark!

Our Home and School Association is also planning a Christmas shopping event for the students in December. Items are now being collected for this event. Items can be dropped off at the school. (Please ensure all items are family friendly. Clothing will not be included.)  Date and further details coming soon!

We are pleased to be able to have a Remembrance Day ceremony again this year with our local veterans. Families are welcome to join us for this as we “remember” on Monday, November 7th at 1:15pm in the gym.

Our librarian, Mrs. Comeau is planning a Book Fair in the HES library next week Nov. 7-10th. Students will visit the library with their classes. More information will be provided by Mrs. Comeau.

Another note from Mrs. Comeau…. Last year, the library lost quite a few books, some of them new.  This year, there will be a charge to replace lost or damaged books. It will be a flat fee of $5. Fees will be posted to School Cash in December, March and June.  Please make your best efforts to return books on time and in good condition. Thank you.

Finally, a reminder that students need to bring a water bottle every day. The water fountains can only be used as bottle fillers (spouts are not available for drinking).
