December is upon us along with plans for Christmas activities. The month begins with report cards and Parent/Teacher interviews.  Interviews will be done by phone. Please be sure you have an appointment. Communicating about your child’s progress is an important part of supporting student learning.

We have noticed there have been more students who have been ill. Just a reminder that students are not to be at school when they are unwell.  Parents will be contacted if students are at school and have symptoms. They will need to be picked up as soon as possible.  We continue to follow the provincial “Keeping our Schools Healthy and Safe” plan. This can be viewed on the district webpage under Covid -19 Information.

This year, we will again prepare a Christmas video with each class performing.  The presentation will be pre-recorded and made available to you the last week before Christmas vacation.  A permission form will be sent home to ensure students can be in the video that will be shared with you via a private YouTube link.  Other Christmas activities have been planned for the students this month. A separate notice will be given to students with these details.

Again, this year Anglophone East will support local food banks with their “Fill the Bus” campaign.  This year, students CAN bring food items to school for our local food banks.  Financial donations can also be made to support this important cause. Please see the Anglophone East website until Dec. 21st to make a financial donation.

As this will be the last newsletter before the Christmas holidays, the staff here at Hillsborough Elementary School want to wish you a safe and joyous Christmas holiday and we look forward to your return in January of 2022!
