Good morning from Frank L. Bowser School,
We would like to thank everyone for their generous donations
throughout the clothing drive last week.
We filled almost a complete transport truck trailer full of items we
know are heading to a place that they will be appreciated for an entire second
life. All while raising funds for the re-building
of the Rebecca Scofield All World Super Playpark.
On a similar note, thank you to all who joined us for our
Pancake Breakfast on Saturday. It was so
wonderful to see so many community members braving the weather to support such
a worthy cause.
On Thursday November 8th at 9:10am we will be
holding our Remembrance Day Assembly in our Frank L. Bowser Gym. All are welcome for this solemn gathering and
we will be joined by several veterans and current service members.
We are asking anyone in our parent community that is a veteran,
current service member, or a member of a first responder service such as police
officer, paramedic, fire fighter, etc. to join us in uniform if possible. You presence would be very much appreciated
and recognized. This would further the
learning and understanding for all students in attendance and give a real world,
first hand example of the services and sacrifices made on a daily basis to
ensure the safety and security of our entire community.
We are also asking any students who are part of a club or
program that has a uniform to wear their uniform for the ceremony on Thursday
in order to recognize their involvement.
We will also be looking for student members in uniform to take part in a
colour parade as part of the flag bearing portion of the ceremony.
Finally a reminder that there is no school this Friday
November 9th as it is professional development and report card preparation
for teachers. There is also no school on
Monday November 12 in recognition of Remembrance Day. Have a wonderful long weekend with your
