Frye Festival Cancellation

The Frye Festival had to cancel its 21st annual festival for reasons that you are surely aware of.  The Frye Festival committee is working on alternatives and digital ways to promote the work of their invited authors.  The committee is considering rescheduling the event to the fall of 2020.  I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Terra Kwan, grade 5 student in Mme. Dupuis class.  She was the winner of the Kidfest writing contest. Her story was selected and has been published.  Way to go Terra. You made EPS very proud!

Update from Evergreen

Good afternoon,

This is Mrs. Panagiotakis, Principal of Evergreen Park School. I hope this talk mail finds you healthy and safe.

As you are aware, on Thursday, March 19th, 2020 the provincial government declared  a state of emergency under the Emergency Measures Act. Due to this, schools will remain closed in order to keep our community safe and healthy.  As instructed by  Mr. Cardy, Minister of Education,  teachers, parents and students will be informed of any home learning options in the beginning of April as well as of any changes that will occur to the 2019-2020 school year.

For the time being, enjoy this time with your children.  Make sure they are physically and emotionally well.  If you require any assistance with their well-being, please refer to the  GNB website.  Several informative memos have been posted to help you  through this difficult time.    If you require any assistance with food, please call the Peter McKee Center at 506-383-4281 and leave a message.  A volunteer will get back to you.  If you wish, you may also send me an e-mail at Antigone.Panagiotakis@nbed.nb.ca and I will try my best to answer any inquiries and offer my help.  For those of you looking for activities to keep your children stimulated, please search on the internet.  There are several educational sites offering fun and educational resources/activities free of charge.

My staff and I look forward to returning to school to be with our students.  Please tell them  we love them and miss seeing their beautiful little faces.

Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation as we navigate this unprecedented global situation.  I will be in touch as soon as I receive new directives from our Minister of Education.

Be safe,

Mrs. Panagiotakis
