August 30
August 30, 2020

Hello everyone.  Today is Sunday, August 30th and this is Mrs. Godfrey with some information about our return to school.

First – Welcome back.  We have missed our students and their families.  Also, I would like to extend a Caledonia roaring welcome to our newest Tigers - Welcome to Grade 6!

The upcoming school year will be a new experience for staff and students.  We are confident that the year will be productive and that we will come through the global pandemic of COVID-19 stronger and more resilient than ever before.

This summer, I have worked with the province, the district, our school based Joint Health and Safety Team, and our Parent School Support Committee to create a detailed Operational Plan for our school.  Operational Plans for all schools in the Anglophone East School district will be shared on school websites on September 3rd.  In preparation of the release of this detailed plan, I want to share some important information with families about Caledonia’s start-up.  Accompanying this message, you will receive a letter from me outlining some important information.  I have included links to documents and resources which will help you in your preparation in the days ahead. All of this is also found under School News on our school website.

This can all seem overwhelming.  There have been so many press conferences, announcements, documents, restrictions, and expectations that have been shared from different countries and provinces.  The most important thing for us to remember is that we will approach our return to school as a Caledonia family – where we care and look out for each other.   Amid all of this, I am grateful that our students and staff can return to school this fall to continue the important work of learning.

Take care and I’ll see you soon!
