WHAT’S HAPPENING AT BERNICE MACNAUGHTON HIGH SCHOOL

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2019

In accordance with district policy, we will be having our Emergency Evacuation drill on Wednesday, Sept. 18th weather permitting.

Please also be advised that on Monday, September 23rd we will be holding our lock down practice drill. No one will be able to enter the building from 11:00 am until we are finished. If your child has an appointment around this time, please make arrangements for pick-up before or after the designated time.

Staff have reviewed the protocols for both drills with our students as part of our start up expectations for safety.

Bernice MacNaughton High School is a scent free zone.  We ask for parent and student support with this policy.  Currently, we have a student experiencing SEVERE breathing difficulties due to scented products.  Thank you for your understanding.

Student Information Profile sheets were sent home with your child on Wednesday.   It is imperative that we have correct up to date contact and medical information for your child.  Please review the information and make any necessary changes or additions. 

School Photo’s will take place Thursday, September 19th.

BMHS Boys Hockey will be holding tryouts on September 28/29/30th at the 4plex. Tryout fee is $60.00 and can be paid in cash at the rink prior to the 1st ice time.
Ice times are as follows;
Saturday, Sept 28th 8:30 p.m.
Sunday, Sept 29th jamboree @ Odysee (details to come)
Monday, Sept 30th 7:30 p.m.

The Bernice MacNaughton Highlanders Cross Country Running team, in conjunction with the Royal Bank are excited to be giving back to the community.  The Highlanders and RBC are having a fundraising barbeque on Saturday September the 14th at the Vaughn Harvey Sobeys’s. Profits from the barbeque will go to two local community groups, Camp Centennial and the Humanity Project.  The Barbeque will run between 10 am and 5 pm.  Bring your appetite.

School fees and school forms can be paid online through the Anglophone East website…school cash.  The fee is $30 for all students, with an additional $5 for grade nine students for their lock purchase.

If you had submitted the online forms prior to September 1st, we ask that you check school cash as we have added additional forms. 


 

This Thursday, September 19th we invite the parents/guardians to our Meet the teacher evening.  We will gather in the auditorium for a short presentation at 6:30pm.  Bring your son/daughter’s schedule as you will follow their schedule to their 5 classes for the remainder of the evening.  Hope to see you there!

There will be a meeting for all students that signed up for girl’s hockey at lunch time Wednesday September 18th in Mr. Matheson’s home room 242.  There will also be a Parents/players meeting in the cafeteria at 7PM September 25th, 2019.
