Talk mail message                                                                                                           Friday, November 5th,2021

BMHS appreciates everyone’s effort this week in supporting their child’s learning under these extraordinary situations.

Home learning will continue next week if the CUPE strike has not been resolved.

If home learning continues next week, Monday from 11:45am – 1:00pm the school will be open for students to pick up any materials from their locker if they did not come by last week.

Grad photo appointments will continue at the offsite location if the CUPE strike has not been resolved.  If a resolution is reached over the weekend, Monday’s appointments will still be offsite due to the set-up time for the equipment.   Stay tuned for an update regarding this information.

We understand that some graduates have not been able to book an appointment time for your grad photo.   The company is working hard to find a solution.  Potentially the company is trying to set up a 2nd camera at the offsite location.  If this is, the booking site will open-up with additional appointment times for those who were unable to book.   A message will be sent out once a decision is made.

Parent Teacher Interviews will take place virtually again this year.  An online booking system will be set up and the link sent in a talk mail message next Wednesday, November 10th.  The booking system will stay open until Tuesday, November 16th at 3:30pm.   Interviews will be held on Thursday, November 18th 6:30 – 8:00pm and Friday, November 19th 9:00 – 11:30am.  Please reserve your time for an appointment with the teachers of the classes you wish to check your child’s progress.

Varsity girls’ basketball tryouts will be held offsite on Sunday, November 7th from 5:00pm – 7:30pm at the North End YMCA, 70 Twin Oaks Drive.  The players will need to show ID and their vaccination record to be permitted in the building.

And finally, clocks are moved back an hour this weekend, Highlanders families are reminded to change your clocks at the end of the day Saturday. Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 7. So, students on Monday don’t turn on your teams’ classes one hour early, you have an extra hour to sleep.

We wish you a lovely one extra hour this weekend.
