| Good afternoon parents and guardians of Arnold H. McLeod
School,
This is the weekly voicemail message for Friday January 29th:
Please note that there will be school on Monday February 1st. On the original school calendar, February 1st
was to be a Professional Learning day, but this has changed. All students will have school on Monday
February 1st.
Did you know students are on a playground zone for a month
as a class bubble? Monday classes move
to a new playground zone.
Just a reminder that adults on the playground or school
property must wear a mask at all times.
Next week
students will be going outside for many of their Phys. Ed. classes. Sleds
and snow scooters will be available to use. If students wish to use a snow
scooter, they will be required to bring in a helmet. Students are encouraged to
dress warmly and be prepared to be outside for most Phys. Ed. Classes next week.
That’s all for this week.
Thanks for listening and have a great weekend. |
| At the K-2 dismissal, there are a number of cars that are
parking and blocking the driveways of our neighbors. We understand that you may feel that you are
only there for a short time; however, one of the houses is a business and this
is severely affecting their customers.
Should this continue, the owners of the houses may be forced to call the
police.
Please note that Covid regulations are not permitting the
exchange of Valentines this year at Arnold H.
If you send them to school with your child, they will be returned to
you. Thank you for being a Flexible
Flamingo.
We continue to work hard daily at Arnold H. to make sure
that our students and staff are healthy with all of our strategies in our
operation plan. Staff are now actively
screened as they arrive daily.
How can you do your part?
1.
Please remember to screen your child daily. If they have 1 symptom they must stay home
from school. Symptoms include fever,
cough, diarrhea, loss of taste or smell, runny nose, sore throat, muscle pain,
purple markings on the fingers or toes, headache and fatigue/exhaustion.
2.
Please send two clean masks and a water bottle
daily with your child.
3.
Please return the blue profile sheets to your
child’s teacher. It is very important
that we have up to date information in the
event that contact tracing is needed.
That’s all for this week.
Thanks for listening and have a great weekend.
|
| Picture retake orders are due to your child’s teacher by
Monday January 18th.
Please be advised that at Arnold H. McLeod we are promoting
and teaching our students to be independent. This includes our Kiss and Drop
area. The role of the staff supervising
the Kiss and Drop is to assist only if it is needed. The staff have been instructed to allow the
students to open their own doors and put on their own backpacks. This is especially important during this time
of Covid protocols. The staff are there
to provide a safe environment only not to assist the students getting out of
the car. Should a child ask for help
after being a persevering penguin, the staff would gladly oblige.
By the end of this week, students should have brought home a
Learning from Home Packet. Please leave these
packets in the backpack unopened. You
will be advised by the school and/or your child’s teacher via email when you
can open and complete the enclosed work.
With the uncertainty of school closures due to active Covid cases, our
school is being proactive and sending these packets in case. We do NOT have any announcements or news to
share.
Next week, we will be sending home blue Profile Sheets to
update information in our school system.
This is very important for contact information, so please take the time
to update all necessary information.
AHM
is happy to be one of the schools granted access to the New Brunswick Department
of Education and Early Childhood Development's new free online library called
SORA. With SORA, students have access to over 9,000 e-books, audio books
or read-alongs in French and English. This week and next, our librarian Mrs.
Davidson, is giving presentations to students, showing them how the
website and app work. An info sheet will be sent home with students next week
that provides the steps for logging on. Happy reading!
That’s all for this week.
Thanks for listening and have a great weekend. |

| This is the weekly voicemail message for Friday September 25th:
Orange Shirt Day recognizes the harm done to generations of
children by the Indian Residential Schools and is an affirmation of our
commitment to ensure that every child matters. This year we will observe ORANGE
SHIRT DAY on Wednesday September 30th.If you do not have an orange
shirt, you can wear orange accessories.
For the parents who are using our Kiss and Drop to bring
their children to school. We ask that
you observe the following:
·
Students should be ready to exit the vehicle
with their mask on and backpack nearby.
·
Parents should remain in the vehicle. We are building independence at AHM and
students should exit the vehicle on their own without help.
·
Please do not wait and watch your child enter
the building. There are three staff
members on duty should your child need help.
·
Please move ahead to the front of the line if
the opportunity presents itself.
We are also alarmed at the number of parents and students
who are walking in the bus or Kiss and Drop lanes when arriving at school. Please set a good example and use the
sidewalks and crosswalks that are intended for pedestrians.
Please take a moment to read the government document titled Symptomatic
Students FAQs. It will answer many
questions that you may have about children attending school and when to call 811. This document can be found on our school
website under the Quick Links tab on the right.
That’s all for this week.
Thanks for listening and have a great weekend. |

participate in honoring this deserving young lady by performing random acts of
kindness and recording it on the special pink paper that was sent home this
week. Please return the paper to your
child’s teacher by Monday September 21st. The papers will be used to create a visual
display of all the good that our students have accomplished.

Good
afternoon parents and guardians of Arnold H McLeod School.
This is the
final voicemail for this school year.
The teachers were thrilled to get a chance to
see some of their students during report card pick up on Monday. We want to thank all of you for your
continued support and patience throughout this unprecedented time.
In the
report card envelop sent home were the school supply list for 2020-2021 school
year. They have also been posted to the school website under “School News”. Please note the price for the student fee has
been adjusted. The student fee will now be 10$ to cover the student agendas. You
will be getting an alert for the 2020-2021 school supply fee of 10$ at some
point. There was a glitch in the system and some of you received an e-mail
about 2019-2020 school fee. This has been fixed. The District apologizes for
this error.
Yesterday

Good afternoon parents and guardians of Arnold H. McLeod
School,
This is a special voicemail message for Wednesday, June 17th.
Each year at AHM grade level teams select one student who
has shown growth either academically, behaviorally or both throughout the
school year to receive the Apple Growth Award.
Unfortunately, this year we are unable to celebrate their
accomplishments during our final assembly in June. With permission from their
parents we have posted the write up on our school website under the “documents”
section. The students received a certificate, plaque, and a picture.
It is with great pleasure I announce the six Apple Growth
winners for the 2019-2020 school year.
Kindergarten- Francois Allen
Grade One- Bryden Brown
Grade Two- Alexander Gallant
Grade Three- Zein Iqelan
Grade Four- Saddie Geldart
Grade 5 Kenneth Kay
Congratulations to all of you. We are very proud of the
accomplishment you made this year.
Thanks for listening and have a great evening.

Good afternoon
parents and guardians of Arnold H. McLeod School,
This is the
weekly voicemail message for Friday June 12th,
•
Minister Dominic Cardy made an announcement today at 11:00am about the return
to school plan for September. Follow the link below to watch his announcement.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=keYn4VCFSZA
We are working on
staffing for the fall and once that is in place we can begin to look at the
physical layout of the school and a safety plan will be put in place. Please
help us begin to transition your child for the fall now. Please explain to them
the concept of a class bubble. This will be their sole grouping for all
activities inside and outside of the school. Things will look the same and
different next year. Arrivals, recess, specialty classes, lunch and departures
will look different as we follow required safety guidelines. Some AHM
traditions such as Math Flex and all our wonderful clubs and activities may
have to be put on hold. We will do our best to make these changes as smooth as
possible for our students and staff. We also understand that things could
change at any time according to government directives and we will adapt and
change accordingly.The Return to
School Plan can be found on the Anglophone East School District Website.
•Report cards will be picked up at the
school on Monday, June 15th. It will be a drive-thru pickup. Please
drive up to the pylons at the K-2 doors. If you are walking please line up at the
pylons by the Kindergarten playground. Your child’s homeroom teacher will meet
you and bring the report card to your vehicle. Please remain in your vehicle so
we are following social distancing protocols. No one will be permitted into the
building except for staff. If you have
multiple children, you can come at the time that is most convenient for you.
K-2 will be from 9:00am to 11:30am and 3-5 from 12:30pm to 3:00pm. If you can’t
come on this day, please contact your child’s homeroom teacher.
•We are missing
200 library books and would appreciate it if you could return them when you
come to the school on Monday. Please put them in a plastic bag labelled with
your child’s homeroom teacher. The books will be cleaned later. Also homeroom
teachers are looking for their classroom library books. It would be greatly
appreciated if you could return them on Monday too.
• Homeroom teachers were doing their
final contact home this week. We appreciate your continued support throughout
this time.
• The bagged
lunch program ends on Friday, June 19th. If your family needs food
please contact Peter McKee Centre at 506-383-4281
• The “Out of Bounds” request form is now accessible for parents to
complete and submit online. Here is the
link to the online version of the form.
