Grants for Sustainable FN Projects

Schools were given the opportunity to apply for financial support for ongoing, sustainable, cross-curricular, experiential projects that incorporate First Nation Education. We are excited to be able to support 10 of the 21 projects that were submitted. We hope to grow this in the future after looking at this ‘pilot’ project.

Grade ¾ Integrated PL

Grade 3 and 4 ELA and Social Studies teachers will be coming together for a day of learning and collaboration. Using the Grade 3 Treaty Ed, school teams worked on planning and prepping to implement the knowledge and activities in their classes cross-curricularly.

Grade 9 ‘Education for Reconciliation’ PL

Grade 9 Social Studies teachers will be coming together for a day of learning and collaboration with EAL, FI EST and FN Subject Coordinator to share how this new curriculum is being used and next steps for their schools.

KAIROS Blanket Exercise

Guidance counsellors took part in this experiential learning opportunity and more to come! The Coalition of First Nation Education Champions will be taking part next week.

Indigenous Studies 120
